The AVP Professional Beach Volleyball tour ended its three-day tournament in Mason, Ohio by crowning new AVP Cincinnati Open champs.
Seeded 14th, Emily Day and Summer Ross in their first career AVP tournament together made their way to the finals and defeated three time-Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings and Whitney Pavlik, 21-15, 21-11 in Monday's final.
Ross was also the youngest athlete in the tournament at 20-years-old.
Second-seeded team of two-time Olympian Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson faced off against 5th seeded team Nick Lucena and Theodore Brunner in the men's finals.
Gibb and Patterson earned their first AVP tournament title since teaming up, beating Lucena and Brunner 21-14, 22-20. The team also went undefeated throughout the tournament, taking only two games in each match against all five opponents.
