Weather prognosticator Dick Frymire dead at 87

IRVINGTON, KY (WAVE) – A Kentuckian who was nationally known for being a weather prognosticator and folklorist has died.  L.H. "Dick" Frymire was 87.

Frymire, of Irvington, served as a judge and magistrate in Breckinridge County and was Kentucky's railroad commissioner in 1975.

He made many national TV appearances as a guest of Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno and others. Frymire also appeared on many local and regional telecasts, including numerous appearances on WAVE 3.

Funeral services for Frymire will be held Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. EDT at Irvington United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington.

Visitation will be Monday, September 9 from 12 Noon to 9 p.m. EDT at Alexander Funeral Home & after 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday, September 10 at the church.
