Laconia man injured in early morning ATV accident

ELIZABETH, IN (WAVE) - A Laconia man was injured early Saturday morning in an ATV accident.

A man called Harrison County 911 about 4 a.m. to report a shoeless man sitting on his front porch asking for help after flipping his ATV.

Indiana Conservation Officers responded, located the overturned ATV and the victim's shoes, in a ditch on Pumping Station Road, but no victim. They impounded the unregistered ATV.

About 10 a.m. conservation officers received a call from David Hubbard, 38 of Laconia, who was asking about the ATV. Hubbard was issued a citation for operating the vehicle without a valid registration.

Hubbard was not wearing a helmet or any safety equipment.

Indiana conservation officers strongly advise wearing safety equipment when operating an ATV.
