LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - A University of Kentucky student jumped into action Wednesday to rescue a child who police said had been left inside a hot car on the college's campus.
Brittany Pendleton said the windows were rolled up and the car was not running. That's when she called 911. Police said when they were able to reach the young boy, he was hot to the touch.
"I don't know how she thought it was okay to just go in somewhere and just leave a child when it's so hot outside, said Pendleton. "I was sweating standing outside the car, so I can't imagine how he was feeling in it."
The child was okay, but his babysitter has been cited for second degree wanton endangerment.
