JESSAMINE COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Friends and family searched for a missing Jessamine County woman for 11 days. Brenda Suiter was not only wanted by her family, but also by the Lexington Police Department.
Suiter's family finally got the call they had been hoping for, when on Wednesday, Suiter turned herself into police after warrants were issued for her arrest.
Lexington police said she embezzled more than $100,000 from her employer. She allegedly forged dozens of checks and is now facing three counts of criminal possession of forged instruments and theft by deception.
"We had been investigating Ms. Suiter for some time because she was the book keeper of a business that contacted us," said Sherelle Roberts of the Lexington Police. "They said they felt there were some irregularities, a lot of money missing and they thought she was responsible."
