LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man charged with breaking into victims' homes while they attended funerals has been charged in another crime and, according to an arrest report, some of the stolen property in the string of thefts has been found.

Michael Bennett, 32, has already served time for burglary, and based on the number of burglaries Bennett is charged with this time, investigators speculate some of the victims may even live outside of Jefferson County.

He's charged with numerous burglaries in the area. Detectives think he targeted victims by looking up grieving relatives in obituaries.

The latest charge comes from a July 17 burglary of a home on Woodgate Lane, near Breckenridge and Six Mile lanes.

In the arrest report, it indicates that detectives found property stolen in many of the burglaries tied to Bennett in a storage unit owned by the suspect's mother.

Police say Bennett was breaking in and taking what he could to support a heroin addiction.

A tip about a truck parked outside of a burglarized home was linked to Bennett.

Then, last month, an officer claims to have caught Bennett leaving a home that had just been broken into with items stolen from another family the same day in the truck.
