Former executive director of Bluegrass Airport found dead in home

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - The former executive director of the Bluegrass Airport has been found dead in his home.

The body of Michael Gobb was found by his employer Wednesday at this Lexington residence. Gobb's employer said he had been on leave of absence for sometime but was supposed to return this week.

Gobb headed the airport for nearly a decade until a state audit in 2009 turned up more than a $500,000 in questionable spending. He was sentenced to 5 years probation for theft by deception.

The coroner has not released the cause of his death.
