LMPD: Man assaulted woman and held her captive

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Fairdale man has been arrested on multiple charges for assaulting his girlfriend.

Jullian C. Anthony, 28, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. September 17, but the woman he is accused of assaulting said things began the night before.

Anthony's arrest report says he and the woman were arguing around 11 p.m. September 16 about a phone call she had made to someone Anthony didn't like. The report states Anthony punched the woman several times and knocked a coffee table onto her legs.

The woman said Anthony placed a plastic bag over her head and kept it there until she nearly passed out. She also said he poured lighter fluid onto the baby book of their child and was about to ignite it when he saw red and blue lights outside.  Feared police had been called, the report says Anthony told the woman to get on the floor and stay quiet.

Once police left the area, the woman said Anthony slept on the couch near the front door of the apartment to prevent her from leaving and would not let her take their son to the bus stop the next morning.

According to the report, the woman was later able to flee the apartment and call police from the manager's office. Anthony has been charged with wanton endangerment, assault, unlawful imprisonment, terroristic threatening, and arson.
