GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

A man found murdered in a Goose Creek park was robbed, according to family members.

The brother of 40 year old William Kuhn said Friday, police told him Kuhn's wallet and car were gone after the murder.

Kuhn was found dead from a bullet to the head at a Goose Creek park on Wednesday afternoon.

Coroner Bill Salisbury ruled the death of Kuhn, of North Charleston, as a homicide. According to Kuhn's brother, the victim moved to the Charleston area from Ohio about two months ago, and worked as a convenience store clerk.

"All he tried to do was work and support himself, pay his taxes like everybody else, and this man took my brother's life for a few dollars that he had on him," said the victim's brother George Kuhn Jr.

"All they had to do was push him down and rob him. He had no way to defend himself. They didn't have to kill my brother."

Goose Creek police say two children found the Kuhn near a playground at Dogwood Park along Liberty Hall Road.  Officers say a 13-year-old boy was riding his bike at the park when he came across the body around 5 p.m.

The boy called out to Kuhn, and after hearing nothing but silence, he went to get his older brother for help.

When the two boys returned, they called 911. Goose Creek police say a SLED agent was able to determine Kuhn's identity.

"Our investigators are working diligently on this case.  It would not be prudent at this time for us to comment on the case progress at this time," said Capt. John Grainger of the Goose Creek Police Department.

Authorities say the park has been closed to traffic because of vandalism and other minor crimes.  Neighbors in the area are now on alert.  "Keep your doors locked, if that's happened that close around here, I'm keeping my eyes open, that's for sure," said Nick Blair, one man who lives near the park.

Investigators have not said if they have identified any suspects.  The 13-year-old who found the body said he saw a red Ford F-150 leave the park just before paramedics arrived.

George Kuhn is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in his brother's murder. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
