LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Living in the Bluegrass, you think it would be virtually impossible to have never seen a horse in person, but for some children they haven't. That is until now.

The Arabian Horse Celebration is based out of Scottsdale, Arizona and they are so excited to be in the Derby City for their shows this weekend, but before the games begin they wanted to give back and in a way that means more than any trophy could.

They're beautiful and majestic. Arabian horses from all over the country are making their way to Louisville. Like, Miz Vogue, her trainer is getting her ready for competition, but before they head to Freedom Hall Miz Vogue made a special pit stop at The Home of the Innocents.

This non profit organization was picked by the Arabin Horse Celebration.

"One night we found out that some of the children wouldn't be able to attend, we thought well if it is possible we will bring the horse to the children," said Jarvis.

While some will get go see the show, 76 children at the Home of the Innocents have special needs that require around the clock care. Most have never seen a horse in person.

Caretaker Mary Jane Marty sees first hand how each of her kids benefit from this experience.

"The experience of being able to touch an animal, the sensory input and just the natural connection between animals is just wonderful for our children," said Marty.

The Arabian Horse Celebration has already raised $10,000 for the Home of the Innocents at their kick off party. They will continue to fund raise throughout the weekend.

The shows are free and they encourage everyone to come out to Freedom Hall. For more information click, here.
