LMPD: Man holds knife to girlfriend's neck with child present

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is arrested after neighbors call police. According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Quar Tu, 28, was arrested on E. Kingston Avenue after holding a knife to his girlfriend's neck.

The victim, also the mother of his child, said Tu held a knife to her neck and used his arm until she was almost unconscious. He then told her he was going to kill her and the baby.

A witness heard fighting and entered the apartment where he saw Tu holding the knife. The witness eventually wrestled the knife out of Tu's hand and held him down until police arrived.

The Center for Women and Families was contacted and the victim refused medical help. Their child was present during the incident.

Tu is being charged with first degree wanton endangerment and fourth degree assault.
