Police: Convicted felon found with guns, crack cocaine

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man was arrested Wednesday night after Louisville Metro Police were dispatched to an active shooting in the Norfolk neighborhood.

Rico Robinson, 38, was specifically named by a witness who also gave police a description of his car with a partial license plate number. Police found the car in a driveway with Robinson on the front porch.

When detectives exited their unmarked vehicles, Robinson hid something is his right leg sock. Detectives located a large baggie of crack cocaine that was packaged for sale. After Robinson refused to consent to his house being searched, a search warrant was drafted and executed.

Police found digital scales and four different types of guns in various places around the house. He also had a suspended license on him. Robinson has a violent criminal career and is currently on felony probation for arson.  

He is being charged with failure to surrender revoked operator's license, traffic in controlled substance and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
