LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Three people were arrested Wednesday after admitting to officers they intended to use heroin.

According to a Louisville Metro Police Department report, officers noticed a 2000 green Ford Focus parked for over 20 minutes in the Shorty's Gas Station parking lot on W. Broadway. During that time, no one got into or exited the vehicle.

When police approached, the driver, Shannon Haysley, 43, drove off. After police stopped the car, they immediately observed an orange syringe cap laying on the drive side floorboard in plain view of officers.

Upon searching the car, police found 2 more syringes; one was loaded with 8cc's of heroin. Also in the vehicle were Courtney Haysley, 27, and Corey Haysley, 22; both are Shannon Haysley's children. The two kids admitted to intending to use heroin with their mother.

All three people are being charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance. Corey Haysley, who attempted to hide one of the syringes with his foot, is also being charged with tampering with evidence
