Verona man dead after late night crash

BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) -

One person is dead after a crash late Thursday night on Walton Verona Road.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says Christopher Peace, 29 of Verona, Kentucky lost control of the car he was driving near Stephenson Mill Road, left the roadway at a high rate of speed flipping and striking a tree, coming to rest upside down in a ditch.

Peace died at the scene.

Two passengers, Jonathan Huston, 31 of Covington, Kentucky and Peace's son, Travis Peace, 7 also of Verona were air-lifted to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio respectively.

Huston was reported to suffer from life-threatening injuries and Travis with non life-threatening injuries.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision.  Speed and perhaps alcohol involvement are suspected contributing factors.  Anyone with information concerning the collision is asked to notify the Boone County Sheriff's Office at (859) 334-2175.
