LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Kentucky Derby Festival is putting out a call for participants who want to walk on the wild side in the 2014 Republic Bank Pegasus Parade.

Coordinators are looking for equestrians, specialty units, marching bands, inflatables and floats to take this year's Call of the Wild theme down Broadway to celebrate the festivals oldest event.

KDF President and CEO Mike Berry said "We wanted to give the parade participants a theme that left room for interpretation. ‘Call of the Wild' can include anything from jungle and adventure themes to songs like ‘Wild Thing,' or even the Wild Wild West. We want groups to be creative and have fun with it."

The parade is scheduled for Thursday, May 1 and be aired exclusively on WAVE 3 News. If you would like to download an application to participate, click here. The application deadline is January 31, 2014.
