LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The skies over Kentuckiana lit up Thursday morning as an apparent meteor streaked across the sky.

The American Meteor Society has received more than 165 reports so far anywhere from Kentucky to Iowa.  Viewer Tony Glass from Mt. Washington describes the meteor as having "a bright green head and a long white tapered tail".

The first reports came in around 7:02 am EDT with the meteor streaking southeast to northwest over the region.
