HARDINSBURG, KY (WAVE) - An architectural gem in south central Kentucky is about to be saved from destruction.

The Judge Joseph Holt House, located in Hardinsburg, was built in 1850 and is about to undergo a complete renovation.

The house belonged to Joseph Holt, who was Abraham Lincoln's top legal advisor, and the country's first Judge Advocate General. Dozens turned out Saturday for the Holt Home Community Day event to celebrate the pending renovation.

Thanks to recent $500,000 grant, the home will undergo renovation later this year.
