MOUNT WASHINGTON, KY (WAVE) - Mount Washington was full of barbeque sandwiches, hay rides and live music Saturday and all for a good cause.

The Mount Washington Police Department put on a Barbeque Fest in honor of fallen Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis. Ellis was ambushed and murdered in late May while clearing debris from a highway off ramp.

"Anytime another officer gets killed, more specifically, in the line of duty, it always hits home," said Sgt. Tim Morris. "I've never met Jason Ellis in my life but for any officer, it always is important and we always share a bond even when you don't know, it still hits you in the heart."

There is still no arrest in Officer Ellis' case.
