BRACKEN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Dressed from head to toe in faux fur a soldier made his way onto a high school football field after serving 11 months overseas.

Friday night, U.S. Army Specialist Justin May wore the Bracken County High School polar bear mascot outfit to surprise his family.

May's brother, Ryan, plays on the football team and his father, Ronald, is an assistant head coach.

Specialist May said his surprise was a success, "He had no idea what was going on for a few seconds, it was amazing. They had no idea I was out here or in that uniform or anything."

In addition to the surprise, May joined his father and brother at midfield for the pre-game coin toss.
