LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - People who don't qualify for holiday help through the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program can still reap its benefits by becoming volunteers. Numerous volunteer opportunities are available:
Angel Tree registration
October 21 to 26, October 28 to November 2
Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers are needed in three-hour shifts on all these days to help sign up families for the Angel Tree program. Some positions require computer experience; others do not.
November 4 to November 12
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volunteers will help create angels so they can be adopted in the malls and by corporations.
Staffing mall booths
November 23 to December 8
Volunteers are needed to work shifts during mall hours at one of the Salvation Army's three mall locations.
Sorting Angel Tree bags
November 25 to December 14 (Shift times vary.)
Angel Tree distribution
December 16 to 21, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
