Victim says attackers broke into his house to assault him

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man was assaulted in his home after two suspects attacked him outside of his house and then broke into the residence when he tried to get away from them, according to police.

Officers responded to a home invasion at 917 S. 16th St. in the Parkland neighborhood of Louisville in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

The victim told Louisville Metro Police he was attacked by two men outside of his house and went inside to try to get away. According to an arrest report, the men broke through the front door of the house and continued to assault the victim using a chair and a lamp.

A witness to the attack told police the suspects fled in a car. Just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, police arrested Dion Larue Ross, 51, about a mile away when they spotted a car matching the witness' description.

The other suspect had not been arrested at the time this article was written.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
