Jury recommends sentence in kickball murders

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – After finding them guilty, a Jefferson County jury began the penalty phase in the trial of two men they convicted in a deadly shooting.

William Smith and Quentin Wilson were both found guilty of murder, criminal attempted murder, wanton endangerment and tampering with evidence.

Prosecutors say the men fired several shots in Shawnee Park which killed Antonio Anderson, 22, who was hit while playing a game of kickball.

Two others were injured; they both survived.

They jury recommended Wilson serve 50 years and Smith 24 years. Formal sentencing will take place November 26.
