Shelter set up for flood victims moved

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A shelter set up to help residents who have been displaced from their homes due to flooding has moved.

Tuesday the Louisville Area Chapter Red Cross moved its shelter from Atherton High School to St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 2000 Douglass Boulevard.

Since Sunday the Red Cross said they have served more than 600 meals and snacks to workers who provided water rescue, residents in the shelters and volunteers.

The Red Cross said a shelter will remain open as long as there is a need. Calls for those impacted by flooding will be taken 24 hours per day by calling (502) 561-3642.
