PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

One half of a husband-wife duo accused in a string of robberies has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors said Luke Craig Broeker, 30, also was sentenced Thursday to four years of supervised probation.

Broeker and Shannon Broeker, 27, were arrested at a Mesa motel as suspects in a string of 10 robberies since August 2013, said Gilbert police Sgt. Jesse Sanger.

Five of the robberies were businesses in Gilbert with three others in Mesa and two in Chandler.

Shannon Broeker reportedly was present for many of the robberies along with the couple's four sons, ranging in age from 1 to 6 years old, Sanger said.

Some of the robberies were at Walgreens, Fry's, 7-Eleven, and Goodwill stores.

Each was charged with multiple counts of robbery and charges stemming from their involvement in violent felonies while having their children with them at the time.
