PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Kate Gallego has won a seat on the Phoenix City Council in District 8, and Laura Pastor claimed the victory in the race for District 4.

Gallego beat out Warren Stewart for District 8 and Pastor had more votes than Justin Johnson in District 4.

Council District 4:

Laura Pastor - 8,611 (53.54 percent)

Justin Johnson - 7,471 (46.46 percent)

Council District 8:

Kate Gallego - 7,925 (61.12 percent)

Warren Stewart- 5,042 (38.88 percent)

The election was required by the city charter because no candidate for the offices received a majority of the votes cast for the office in the August election.

There are also school bond votes across the Valley.
