Money being raised for playground to honor Kentucky boy who drowned

PROVIDENCE, KY (WFIE) -

A young Kentucky boy, who drowned in the Ohio River this summer, was remembered on Saturday with a playground.

Carter Nall, three-years-old, went missing on July 14 when his family temporarily docked their boat on a sand bar along the river.

Carter's family says he loved tractors and anything about farming.

With the help of the Church of Christ in Providence, they are raising money to keep that love alive.

The goal is to raise $20,000 by the spring for a playground to be built behind the church.

Saturday was the start of it all and the family said they are already amazed by the community support.

"Its just overwhelming," said Bobby Nall, Carter's grandfather. "How can you describe love or emotion or integrity. You know really you don't have the words for stuff like that and yes, it means a lot."

Bobby said they are really excited about the playground.

They feel that it's such an honor.
