LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two students have been arrested after a weapon was reported on the campus of Valley High School.
According to MetroSafe, LMPD officers were called to Valley, located at 10200 Dixie Highway, at 10:46 a.m. Ben Jackey, a spokesperson for the Jefferson County Public Schools, said staff members received a tip that a student had a weapon. When the staff when to talk with the student, he took off.
Metro police officers caught up to the student in a nearby neighborhood following a short chase.
Dwight Mitchell, a LMPD spokesperson, said the two Valley High students were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds. The student who fled was also with fleeing/evading police.
