(FBI.GOV/CNN) - More than a week after he was captured in Libya, alleged Al Qaeda operative Abu Anas Al-Libi is in the U.S. to face charges.
He was transferred to law enforcement custody in New York over the weekend, according to a U.S. Attorney's Office.
U.S. Special Operations Forces snatched Al-Libi from his home in Tripoli on October 5 and took him to a navy ship for interrogation.
He is accused of playing a role in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.
