LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Four Louisville men are behind bars on drug charges after the Louisville Metro Police SWAT team served a warrant at a home in the Russell neighborhood.

The four – Robert Earl Hartsfield, age 56; Richard H. Watkins, 28; Cleve O. Knight, 25; Lorenzo Erve, 20, all of Louisville – were arrested around 8 p.m. October 14 at a home in the 600 block of South 16th Street.

Each of the men have been charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine and heroin) and possession of marijuana. Hartsfield, Knight and Erve are also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Watkins is also charged of tampering with physical evidence. Police said he tried to flush marijuana down the toilet as the SWAT team entered the house.

The arrest reports say there was crack cocaine packaged for sale, along with two bundles of marijuana and handguns.
