LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - With the cold winter months approaching the government shutdown could leave those who need help paying their heating bills in the cold.
The City of Louisville announced pre-registration for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program has been suspended.
The Federal Government shutdown caused a lapse in appropriations for LIHEAP subsidies.
City officials said as soon as the shutdown ends registration will continue.
