Fingerprints lead to arrest in home burglary

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Someone broke into a house and stole more than $3,000 worth of items. Now, police found the suspect after the finger print results came back with a match.

According to a police report, Kevin Staples was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a fingerprint report identified him as the suspect who burglarized a home off Bellevue Avenue.

During an interview with a detective Staples gave a taped confession and said he broke into the home through the basement window.

He is charged with burglary.
