LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - University of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino announced on Thursday afternoon that starting forward Chane Behanan has been suspended indefinitely.
"Chane Behanan is no longer a part of our basketball team," Pitino said. "He's been indefinitely suspended by the university for violation of university and team rules. Can Chane come back on the basketball team? It is possible, it's not probable. We set up an arrangement for him to come back and he's already violated the arrangement in less than one week."
Behanan started 37 games for the 2013 National Championship team, averaging 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
According to Pitino, the junior forward moved out of Minardi Hall, where the basketball players live on campus, four days ago.
Behanan will still be allowed to work out at the YUM! Center practice facility during the suspension.
