TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pima County Sheriff's Department investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly assaulted an elderly woman last week.

The incident happened at about 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Tanque Verde Swap Meet, 4100 South Palo Verde Road.

The suspect is described as Hispanic. He was wearing a white shirt and red ball cap and was driving a late model Dodge car.

According to a news release, the 74-year-old victim told deputies the suspect allegedly slapped her and spit on her. The confrontation began when she got out of her car because he was yelling at her, the release said. His car had been blocking hers in a parking space and after waiting a few minutes, she honked her horn at him, the release said.

The victim retreated to her car after the assault and the suspect allegedly kicked her fender and tried to open her door, the release said. She reported the incident to swap meet employees at the vendor entrance.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
