BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A man has been arrested in connection to a bomb threat that caused the evacuation of two courthouses in Shepherdsville, according to Bullitt County Sheriff's Office.
Robert Pronovost, 30, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, was taken into custody at 8:45 p.m. Monday.
Investigators said around 200 people were evacuated from the Bullitt County Courthouse and the adjacent Bullitt County Judicial Center Monday morning after a phone call to Bullitt County 911 stated there were explosive devices in the area.
The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office, Shepherdsville Police, Bullitt County Emergency Management Agency and the Shepherdsville Fire Department went to investigate the threat. Two K-9s were sent into search the buildings and officials determined the area was clear around 2 p.m.
The Bullitt County Sheriff's Office said Pronovost admitted making the bomb threat in order to avoid going to jail on a case scheduled for Monday afternoon.
Pronovost is being held in the Bullitt County Corrections Department.
