(Toledo News Now) -

It's not every week a diner can say it's had zero violations during its inspections for the past three years, but that's the case at My House Diner on Lewis Avenue in west Toledo. It's also been rated one of the Top 50 Cleanest Kitchens in the county. If only others could say the same.

Eight violations were served to Frisch's Big Boy on West Alexis Road in west Toledo. There was food without date labels, grease residue and debris covering unused equipment, as well as dirt coating the floor near the dish machine. Because of the violations, health inspectors want staff members to provide written documentation of cleaning procedures.

Lil Sheba on West Alexis Road racked up double-digit violations. Its 10 violations included improperly thawing meat, expired food, build-up in the ice machine and a door propped open.

Inspectors are not rubbing elbows at the Elbo Room on West Alexis Road. Seven violations were found during its latest inspection, including no soap or paper towels, along with improper food temperatures and raw shell eggs stocked above bacon.

The Star Diner on West Alexis Road scored seven violations. Inspectors noted improper date marking, severely-worn potato buckets, dirty bulk food bins and chipped, broken flooring.

Only three violations at Zacharya's Eatery & Cafe on West Alexis Road. The most notable: a dish machine not dispensing chlorine.

Family-owned Lazeez Mediterranean Cuisine in downtown Toledo on North St. Clair is serving up perfection, according to inspectors. No violations to report.

We all have an excuse to order its famous fries tonight. Five Guys on Conant Street in Maumee is violation free.
