ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Students in Elizabethtown welcomed a special visitor in celebration of Red Ribbon week.

On Wednesday, national anti-drug and alcohol speaker and D.A.R.E. Safety Buddy Retro Bill spoke to students at T.K. Stone Middle School.

Retro Bill travels around the country working with children and warning students about the dangers of alcohol and tobacco.

"It goes into your lungs, it goes into your brain it goes into the blood stream and once its smoked it's done its damage," he said.

Retro Bill stopped at nine schools in the area.

The Elizabethtown Police Department booked the visits. The city paid for them with money from a regulatory fee levied against beer and liquor sales.
