Fifteen people were arrested at the University of Massachusetts Amherst following the Red Sox World Series win Wednesday night.
According to officials, 14 of those arrested were Umass Amherst students and were charged with failing to disperse. The other person was charged with being disorderly. Officials said two of the students arrested have also been charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
Before the game, authorities said campus officials provided food and activities serving more than 2,900 students. Officials said the growing crowd behaved calmly until the end of the game.
Police said by the end of the game the crowd grew out of control and Umass Amherst, town of Amherst and Massachusetts State Police were all there to disperse the crowd in less than an hour.
