Teen charged in Shively murder

SHIVELY, KY (WAVE) – Shively police detectives have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man earlier this month.

Sgt. Josh Myers, a Shively Police Department spokesperson, said a 17-year-old boy is facing charges for the murder of Tony L. Grady. The shooting happened on the night of October 3 as Grady and a woman were sitting inside a car at the Chalet Village Apartments, 3308 Dixie Highway. The woman was wounded, but survived.

The teen has been charged with murder, assault and robbery. According to Myers, evidence and witness testimony indicate the shooting stemmed from a drug transaction.

Because of his age, the name of the teen has not been released. Myers said Shively detectives will be working with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to have the case moved to Circuit Court.
