LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville's next celebrities lined up Saturday at Louisville Slugger Field in the hopes of making it onto the silver screen.

Extras were needed for an independent film being shot here in the river city. The movie, currently titled ‘Produce', centers around a self destructive former pro ball player who gets a real life lesson after forming a great friendship with a grocery store clerk who has down syndrome.

"The main character has gone through his arc of redemption," said Milan Chakraborty, the film's producer. "He's a former baseball player who comes back and is announced as the new coach of the Louisville Bats."

Louisvillian David Desanctis, who's part of the Dreams with Wings Summer Camp is starring in the film.
