LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)- Five juveniles are being held in Jefferson County Youth Corrections for stealing, according to Louisville Metro police.

Police said the thefts took place at the Manual versus Eastern High School game on Friday night.  Officers took reports from 20 victims, who reported cell phones, headsets, cash and shoes stolen from the locker room inside an auxiliary gym at Eastern High School.

The room was being used by the Manual High School football team.  One Manual player told WAVE 3 News he was missing a cell phone and more than $100 cash.  Student Taylor Horton said, "someone told me and I was like flabbergasted."

News of the incident spread relatively quickly.  Student Jason Moore is in the band. "I had most of my stuff on me but I did have stuff in the band room which was left unlocked.  I was like, 'I hope none of my stuff got taken," he said.

Players became aware of the thefts during the game.  Police were also tipped off during the game.  Officers said they spotted five juveniles leaving the area.  8th Division detectives arrested the youngsters, all boys, ages 14-17.  They are all charged with burglary.

Players and coaches stayed after the game to meet with Metro Police officers, who took reports on the stolen items.  Coaches from both teams met at the end of the game to make sure things would remain calm in the post-game handshake line.

One Eastern Senior said, "I just hope it doesn't ruin our reputation because I know there are a bunch of really good people at Eastern."  Three players had their items returned by midnight, police said.
