Trial to begin for 72-year-old charged in stabbing death

The murder trial for a 72-year-old woman is expected to begin Monday in Butler County.

According to Hamilton Police, Delores Jackson, of Hamilton, was involved in an altercation with 56-year-old Diana Ross-Ray on June 14. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Monument Street around 11 p.m. for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, they found Ross-Ray unresponsive and suffering from a puncture wound. Investigators said Jackson allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife in the upper-torso.

Ross-Ray was transported to Ft. Hamilton Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Jackson was later booked into the Butler County Jail. Her trial is scheduled to begin Monday.
