LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Franklin County, Indiana man is facing a felony charge after his arrest on Friday for stealing cars while a manager at a Louisville vehicle rental business, according to Louisville Metro Police.

An arrest report states Kevin Carlson, 59, of Brookville, IN took at least two cars from Avid Budget Group between July 1 and August 31, 2013. Police said an audit found three cars were missing from the business.

Carlson admitted to police that he had taken two of the cars and had given one of them to his girlfriend to drive. She was arrested on August 22 after she was stopped while driving one of the stolen cars. A second car was found inside Carlson's garage, police said. Each of the vehicles is worth more than $10,000.

Authorities said the two cars Carlson took were in addition to a company car he was provided as a manager of Avis and that he did not have permission to take the additional cars.

Carlson is charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking.
