Fire starts in assisted living center

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Firefighters from several departments worked to put out a fire in an assisted living facility Monday evening.

According to crews on the scene, the fire started in the laundry room of the Regis Woods Care and Rehabilitation Center, located on Lowe Road, around 7 p.m.

Thirty-five firefighters responded and were able to put out the flames in less than 30 minutes.

Some of the residents in the home had to be moved, but no one was evacuated from the building.

No injuries were reported.
