FREDERICKSBURG, IN (WAVE) – The person killed in a head-on collision Tuesday morning has been identified.

ISP said a preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Mercury Sable driven by Jeremy Hall, 33, of French Lick, Indiana was traveling west on Hwy. 150 when Hall attempted to pass a car ahead of him. When he pulled out into the eastbound lane to pass the car, he hit Riggs' Ford head-on, according to police.

Officers said Riggs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hall was air lifted to University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky with serious injuries. Investigators are unsure at this time whether or not seat belts were in use by either driver.

A crash reconstruction team from ISP Sellersburg's post is reconstructing the crash scene. Until the investigation is complete, it's unclear if any criminal charges will be brought against Hall.

Washington County EMS, Washington County Coroner's Office and the Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department all assisted ISP's response to the crash Tuesday morning.
