BOYLE COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A Kentucky pastor charged with the murder of three people inside of a Danville business plead not guilty.

Kenneth Allen Keith, 48, entered the plea during his arraignment on Tuesday in a Boyle County Circuit Courtroom.

Keith wore a bulletproof vest to the arraignment and was escorted by a special response team.

Police said they responded to the September 20 shooting after a 9-year-old boy called 911 and told police there was a robbery that led to the shootings at ABC Gold Games and More.

When officers arrived they discovered the bodies of Michael and Angela Hockensmith, of Lincoln County, along with a third victim, Daniel Smith of Richmond.

The Hockensmiths' co-owner Steve Devine said Keith once owned Kings Corner pawn shop in the same location as their business.

Devine said Mike Hockensmith was Keith's manager before the store changed owners and names this past summer.

Keith serves as pastor for the Main Street Baptist Church in Burnside. He lived in a house next door and he also owned Gold Rush Gold Buyers in Somerset. Police executed search warrants at all three of these locations before he was taken into custody.

Keith's lawyer has said the wrong person was arrested.

Keith is also facing robbery charges. He will remain behind bars, without bond.
