LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Four men from out of state are being held in Louisville after a traffic stop led to more serious charges.
Arrest reports states the truck the men were was stopped for speeding on the Watterson Expressway (I-264) at Cane Run Road just before 5 p.m. November 4. After the stop, a police K-9 alerted officers to the presence of drugs.
Once a search warrant was obtained, Louisville Metro police officers and Jefferson County sheriff's deputies found 10 pounds of crystal meth in a compartment of the truck.
The four men – Abraham Gallegos, 33, of Olathe, Kansas; Lewis J. Saale, 50, of Kansas City, Kansas; Daniel J. Hindman, 29, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Joseph William Shugrue, 32, also of Kansas City, Missouri – were each charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
Shugrue, the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license.
