Cincinnati Reds right fielder Jay Bruce won his second straight Silver Slugger Award on Wednesday evening.
Bruce was named the winner of the National league Louisville Silver Slugger Award for right field.
This season, Bruce led all MLB right fielders in homeruns, RBIs, doubles and extra-base hits. He also led the club in total bases, doubles, HR and RBIs. Bruce became only the third player in Reds history to produce in a season at least 40 doubles, 30 homers and 100 RBI (Dave Parker, Frank Robinson).
The Silver Slugger Award is awarded annually to a player in each position who showcased the best offensive talent. The award is determined by the coaches and managers of Major League Baseball.
Bruce also won the award in 2012.
