LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A 21-year-old Louisville man faces numerous charges after assaulting his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, according to police.

An arrest report states Robert Samples, 21, was asked repeatedly by the victim to leave her home during an argument on October 25. Police said the two ended up in the girl's bedroom where there was a struggle in which holes were knocked in the walls and furniture was moved.

Investigators said Samples left the house after throwing the girl on her bed, getting on top of her, grabbing her by the neck and squeezing, leaving bruises.

Samples returned to the house before police arrived, using keys to let himself inside without permission, according to the arrest report. Officers said he retrieved a knife from the kitchen, began threatening the girl, and then went into a bathroom and threatened to commit suicide.

Samples left the house again before police arrived. He was arrested early Friday morning.

Samples is charged with 1st degree burglary, 4th degree assault and terroristic threatening.
