LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Jefferson County Public School system is cutting ties with a bus company after an investigation into a crash that injured several students.

According to JCPS Spokesperson Ben Jackey, JCPS notified Commonwealth Bus Services that they intend to temporarily stop their contract bus services following a crash on June 11 that resulted in 35 people taken to area hospitals.

An investigation by the NTSB found the crash happened when the tires on the bus failed and caused the bus to cross Interstate 64 and hit a wall.

Jackey said the district wants to review whether Commonwealth Bus Services violated any part of its contract.
