Several acres catch fire in Bullitt County

BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – Several fire departments battled a field fire in Bullitt County on Monday.

According to Bullitt County and MetroSafe dispatchers, between 10 and 20 acres of land caught fire just before 3 p.m.  in a field near Weird and Brooks Hill Roads.

Crews from the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office, Nicholas Fire Department, Southeast Bullitt Fire Department, Shepherdsville Fire Department, Zonetown Fire Department, Mount Washington and Fairdale Fire Department all responded to the scene and were finally able to call control of the fire around 6:15 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
